    Types Of Stress

    Acute stress

Everyone experiences acute stress. It’s the body’s immediate reaction to a new and challenging situation. It’s the kind of stress where an individual is thrown their balance off momentarily. Acute stress comes quickly and unexpectedly but it doesn’t last so long. It doesn’t harm an individual. Once danger passes, the body returns to normal.

    Episodic acute stress

This type of stress includes frequent episodes of cute stress. With this type of stress, an individual doesn’t get time to return to a relaxed and calm state. Episodic acute stress conditions often leave one feeling like they are moving from one crisis to another. Certain professionals such as law enforcement, firefighters and health-workers might also lead to frequent high-stress situations.

    Chronic stress

In chronic stress, an individual experiences high-stress levels for a long period of time. This long-term stress has a negative impact on that individual’s health. This type of stress seems never-ending. Affected individuals have difficulty seeing any way to improve or return to their nature.

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another
